Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow

"Every small act of kindness does make a difference."

One day in 1992, while enjoying a pint in the beautiful scottish highlands with his brother. Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow came up with an idea that would change not only his life, but would also be the first step in changing the lives of many. That day in the pub while watching a news report about the refugee camps in Bosnia and seeing the images of the people suffering. He said to his brother "wouldn't it be wonderful if we can just do one thing to help." He gave up his job and sold his house and travelled down to Bosnia in order to help the people in this war-torn contry. Him and his brother collected clothes, medicine, food and blankets and hed down to Bosnia.

Since then the built a program called Mary's Meals, which today provides more than 400 000 meals to people daily around the world. Albania, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ukraine, Malawi, Uganda, Sudan, Kenya, Liberia, Zambia, Haiti, India, Bangladesh, Philippines, Burma and Thailand.

He said that through his life and what hes accomplished with Mary's meals that it was just a series of little acts of love. He says that he's learned that "Every small act of kindness does make a difference."
